Not being able to get pregnant, or not being able to carry a pregnancy to term, is a very difficult time for couples.
We consider infertility the inability to achieve pregnancy in a 12-month period without using any birth control. This is fairly common – it represents about 14% of couples in the Unites States.
We understand this process can be an overwhelming and stressful time for you. Please don’t hesitate to come to us with questions and concerns.
In-Office Procedures
| Hystosonography
Hystosonography is a minimally invasive ultrasound technique to inspect the inside of a woman’s uterus. It is a valuable technique for evaluating unexplained vaginal bleeding or to investigate uterine abnormalities in women who experience infertility or multiple miscarriages. |
Insemination
Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a procedure that involves placing sperm inside the uterus to facilitate fertilization. The treatment uses a catheter to place sperm directly into the uterus. The goal of IUI is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes, increasing the chance of fertilization. |
Causes of infertility may be unknown, or may be related to the woman, the man or with both partners.
IWH offers in-office procedures for assessment of fertility, such as:
- Ovulation stimulation
- Hystosonography
- Insemination
